Sharing a detailed article by Sean Yap on automating sales tasks using RPA. Sean is a Sales Engineer in the Defence industry. Rudimentary tasks are necessary evils in a sales professional’s day. Why not automate those away?

Examples of such tasks are sales administration, lead hunting through browsing social media and webpages, generation of quotations and updating monthly CRMs.

In his article, he demoed using RPA to automate the RFQ (request for quotations) process on on Singapore Government’s GeBiz and on another procurement platform. By automatically shortlisting and collating all relevant opportunities.

By automating these tasks on a pre-defined schedule, he can free up precious time for more impactful tasks like meeting clients or developing predictable sales systems and strategies.

In his demos, he combined the Python version of TagUI with common Python libraries like Pandas and CSV. The human language version of TagUI can also integrate directly with Python packages. If you need to, writing Python code together with TagUI human language syntax is doable even in a MS Word document, using TagUI Word plug-in. The sky’s the limit.

Sharing 2 RPA articles from Deepak Harish, Data Analyst at Larsen & Toubro India. In his first article, he wrote a step-by-step guide on installing TagUI and with an Hello World example. His 2nd article is 😲🤩

In his second article, Harish shared a complete automation scenario where he downloads a PDF report (using Python version of TagUI), extracts tables data (using Tabula package), pushes the data into DB (using SQLite3), and finally scheduling this (using Windows Task Scheduler).

As a bonus, he shared how to convert a Python script into an executable .exe file for easy distribution (using Auto PY to EXE). Wow, that’s a lot of different tooling in 1 article!

Thanks Harish for your sharing with the community, and I hope the tools will be a part of your automation toolbox and RPA journey for a long time to come.

Sharing a Gmail mass email automation tutorial by Mohd Saif Ali. As we know, email automation tools can be very costly. A lot of costs are spent by these providers to ‘whitelist’ themselves, so that their emails gets approved by destination mail servers instead of ending up in the spam folder.

In Saif’s article below, he shares how he does this by automating Gmail directly. In this way, he has the reliability of sending emails through, without having to use commercial email automation platforms. The identifiers used can be found using Chrome web extensions like SelectorsHub or TagUI’s one.
