The first ever course for TagUI RPA is published! Free self-guided video course with an elaborate mock-up HR website. Finely crafted by my team-mate Ruth, along with inputs from AI/RPA Advisory team and my feedback.

This course is suitable for everyone. It consists of 17 modules and estimated to take 2.5 hours. Even if you decide to go at it slowly, you can complete it in one morning or afternoon. And be productive right away with one of the leading open-source RPA options. TagUI and its various flavours created by extended community champions are fully free, no paid version or fees whatsoever.

The course is now in preview as Ruth tie up any loose ends with feedback from her course users. On the roadmap, AI/RPA Advisory team is planning to create an intermediate course, which shares more tips on leveraging the rich Python ecosystem of packages to do more with less (targeted for business users).

@brownie thanks for raising this! You may have accidentally named your document login.docx instead of login(.docx extension) Try renaming it and run again? 🙂

Hi @ruthtxh , thanks for your prompt response. Is there a version requirement for ms office? I’m on ver 2010. When the file was saved, it wasn’t with the extension. When I try to rename, there’s a warning prompt to advice me against removing the extension. Attached the screen for just running the login subflow – encountered the same error.

@brownie 2010 should work fine. Try renaming from the windows file explorer and run again? If the prompt persist, does ignoring it help?

Hi @ruthtxh , renamed both login and main without the extensions, n here’s how the situation looks… did I miss something? 😇

To open the files now, I need to select Open with MS Word.

When I run Main, there was an error prompt to close the file – which it wasn’t open in the first place.

When I run Login, it was the same error msg.

@brownie I see. Seems like your other files may have the extension showing also so it should be correct sorry. Could you kindly revert back to the original extension main.docx and login.docx.

After this, can you try renaming your folder to exclude spaces instead? I’m not sure which version of the AddIn you are using, but it shouldn’t be an issue to save to folders with spaces in the later versions. You can get the latest version here https://tagui.readthedocs.io/en/latest/setup.html

Thank you @ruthtxh ! YEEESSSS…. it’s the folder space! Took out the space and that’s it! :😁

How may I check TagUI ver btw? When I click update on MS word, it shows Error – cannot find updates.

Oh great! It sounds like you may be using an earlier version of TagUI. Can you try downloading v6.46 from this link? – https://tagui.readthedocs.io/en/latest/setup.html

From v6.46 onwards, users are able to update to latest TagUI version with new features and bug-fixes, by clicking on Update TagUI button in the MS Word Plug-in. Users can also update with tagui update command from the command prompt. Before v6.46, there isn’t such an update feature and requires manually downloading and overwriting existing installation.
